Hello gang! Ericka here and I hope you are having a wonderful beginning of the year. Today, I’m playing with the new Vinny’s View Flat Shaker set and creating an abstract background using washi tape.

Process:

1. Cut watercolor paper to the size you would like and use washi tape to create an abstract design. I used two different sizes of washi to add variety.

2. Lightly spritz water on the paper and carefully apply the Lindy’s shakers to the sections of the background. I used Vinny’s View Flat Shakers and all the fun colors which include –Roll in the Hay, Portrait Blazer Blue, Ears Lookin’ ‘Atcha Olive, Cafe Terrace Tangerine, and Bring The House Down Brown. You can move the colors around with a paintbrush if you want full coverage of your sections.

3. Optional – Before the background dries, sprinkle some salt on the background to add texture to the colors and let it dry.

4. Once the background is dry, carefully peel off the tape and wipe off the salt from the background. Optional – add lines around the shapes using a black pen.

5. I cut down the panel to fit a A4 card side and added a sentiment. I used a die cut to cut some leaves from some scratch paper that I sprayed with Penguin Play Periwinkle Spray. I also used a small amount of  Gimme Five Gold Embossing Powder on the black leaf to add some shimmer and added some pen details for fun.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to play with this new shaker set!

Have a wonderful week,

Ericka
